John, the apostle writes of what he witnessed ....

"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."  (Revelation 5:5-10)

This is the ONLY reference to Him Who sat on the throne having any physical charactics.

Let's study this out a bit deeper.

"And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals." (Revelation 5:1)

Ezekiel reports the vision he had: "And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me;and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe." (Ezekiel 2:9-10)

Ezekiel had already written that this was not a physical hand, but the "FORM" of a hand: "And heput forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem,....." (Ezekiel 8:3)

Jesus explains this to us in better detail: "But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you." (Luke 11:20)

"the finger of God"....the Power of God; He leads us to understand that what He does as a man on earth He does by the Spirit of God....Matthew records the words of Christ ..."But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you." (Matthew 12:28)

Now we understand; "the finger of God" represents the "Spirit of God".

Can we then understand "the hand of him that sat on the throne"?

Jesus answered the Jews who accused Him of blasphemy...."If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him." (John 10:37-38)

Let's go back to Rev. 5:5....".... behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." (Rev. 5:5)

Why was He described in this way?    Why not simply say; "The Son of God" hath prevailed?

When speaking of Jesus in this way, we see that this is speaking of His humanity, the Son of Man...Check the scriptures with me...."Root of David"  (His Humanity)"Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh(Romans 1:3)"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God" (1 John 4:2

"Lion of the tribe of Juda" (His dominion and power and authority)"The sceptre ("sceptre signifies dominion, power, and authority)  shall not depart from Judah,(the tribe of Judah...."Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints." (Hosea 11:12)  nor a lawgiver (Judah is the lawgiver according to Psalms 60:7)    from between his feet, until Shiloh ("Shiloh" meaning the place of peace"..is the name of the Messiah in theTalmud) come; and unto him (Messiah) shall the gathering of the people be." (Genesis 49:10)

When John is told not to be sad, it is explained to him that the One Who is all powerful and who came in the flesh as Son of man is able to open "the Book"...(most likely seven scrolls, with seven seals)

If John had been told that the "Son of God" had prevailed it would have been talking about the divinity of Christ......but we learn here that it is the "Son of man" Jesus, Who has prevailed.

How did He prevail?

Verse 9 gives us the answer....."for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation"

Again we see that this is in reference to "the BLOOD"...the "Son of man" prevailed by the offering of His sinless BLOOD.

What did He prevail in?  He defeated the works of the devil and reconciled fallen man back to right standing in the sight of God.  In other words, He REDEEMED us from the power of sin in our lives.

It is clear in verses 5 and 6 that the LION and the LAMB are ONE."...And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."  (Revelation 5:5-6)

Back to the original question, what are we to learn about the "right hand" that was mentioned in verse 7?

From the scriptures we have already discussed how the "right hand" denotes authority and heirship...we saw in the story of Jacob's sons when Joseph brought his sons to be blessed...."And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him. And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn." (Genesis 48:13-14)

In this passage we see that it was only normal for Joseph to position his sons according to their births, and he stood Manasseh in position to receive the "right hand" blessing....for Manasseh was the "firstborn".(of course we read later that Jacob knew by the Spirit of God that Ephraim should and would receive the firstborn blessing).

Remember, in the revelation of Jesus Christ to John His apostle, the "right hand" handed the book to the Son of man (the Lamb who was slain)....

In other words, this vision, this revelation teaches us that Jesus (Risen Son of man),  as the "FIRSTBORN" of many brethren is worthy to receive all authority and power in heaven and in earth.

Was this a "physical right hand" which John witenessed? OR Was this a symbol of the authority and power of Almighty God, the indication that Jesus (Son of man) received the THE LAW OF THE FIRSTBORN, Exo. 13:1.   "Sanctify unto Me all the firstborn ... it is Mine."

The consecration of the firstborn..... "They are Mine."....only YahShua (First Born from the dead) is qualified to approach this magnificent and mighty manifestation of Sovereign God as Son of man...should you or I attempt such a thing we would be utterly consummed and burnt up for God is a Consumming Fire.

Yet, the Lamb, (representing Jesus as the sinless sacrifice) is Risen from the grave, the "First Born" of many brethren and by that He is able to open the book.

There are the scriptures such as "the eyes of the Lord" go to and through upon the earth. There are mention of his ears, feet, mouth, back, fingers, arms, and hands.    None of these should be taken in the solid literal sense that God has form as a human creature.  For God is a Spirit...it is the very Spirit of God that is meant when we see Jesus use the words "if I by the finger of God"....

It was and is this same Spirit of God that empowers sinners to be born again.   The Spirit of Christ IS the Spirit of God.

Yet Jesus was fully man as well as fully God.

When He spoke these words, upon the cross; "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"  we are told,  "that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

The Very Spirit of God torn from the flesh (the Seed of David) causing Jesus to call out; "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"....The Son of man was for the first time seperate from the Son of God....

Divine and Sovereign God tore the veil in two.

The agony and pain of knowing the seperation from divinity was realized by this man from Galilee.  This man; Jesus, who died for the sins of the world, and was buried and raised again on the third day as the Perfect and Almighty God over all of creation, was raised as Son of man, again 100%God and 100%man.  (Remember, He said: "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." (Luke 24:39)

This risen, glorified Son of Man; "Jesus" is coming again.....we will see Him, the Son of man, every eye will see Him....and until that time ....the time He opens the seven seals, He is still making intercession for us at the right hand of God.

It was at that very moment that John witnessed the beginning of the end.

Prophecy in these visions given by revelation of Yahshua to John the Apostle all have a symbolic meaning, an ongoing meaning, a literal meaning, and a FINAL meaning ~
John is told all of these things before time.

There are six seals opened in chapter 6 of the book of Revelations, leading upto the very coming of the New Jerusalem in the clouds, as described by many prophets in the Old and New Covenants; but it stops there, and we are then referred back to the sealing of the servants of Yahweh in chapter 7.

Not until the fifth seal is broken, do we see a literal warning for the saints of Yahweh on earth, that there will be great trials ahead, just as the saved saints under the alter and throne of Him who liveth forever and ever, have been martyred previously. They are given white robes, and told to have patience until these prophecies are fulfilled, and hasatan is aloud complete control of the earth, until the second white horse comes forth out of heaven.

We can read about the 7 angels which stood before Yahweh (8:2&16:1) in the book of Enoch.
They are ~ Uriel, one of the holy angels, who is over the world and over Tartarus.
Raphael, one of the holy angels, who is over the spirits of men.
Raguel, one of the holy angels who takes vengeance on the world of the luminaries.
Michael, one of the holy angels, to wit, he that is set over the best part of mankind and over chaos.
Saraqael, one of the holy angels, who is set over the spirits, who sin in the spirit.
Gabriel, one of the holy angels, who is over Paradise and the serpents and the Cherubim.
Remiel, one of the holy angels, whom God set over those who rise.

By their heavenly dominions described here, we can identify each one to the seven warning trumpet blasts and seven last plagues of revelation, starting in order of scripture with:

Uriel; with weather conditions causing great destruction on the earth and in the sea (8:7&16:4) ~

Raphael; Opening the bottomless pit, sores upon men who worshipped the beast (9:1&16:2) ~

Raguel; warning of a great star falling from heaven, also scorching men with fire (8:10&16:8) ~

Saraqael; causing a shaking and darkening of the governing heavenly bodies (8:12&16:10) ~

Gabriel; Setting loose the 4 angels to lead the 200 million, making way for the kings of the east with their demonic powers (9:14&16:12) ~

Remiel; with a great mountain of fire causing much death (woe to California), and pouring out a vial upon the sea (8:8&16:3).

Michael; Pouring his vial into the air, and kingdoms of the world become the Lords (11:15&16:17).
